Brand History
The Abarth Story
Abarth was founded in 1949 by Austrian-born Carlo Abarth and became famous for performance exhausts, tuning kits, and record-breaking small-displacement race cars, many based on Fiats. Its Fiat-Abarth 595 and 695 conversions of the 1950s and 1960s turned the humble Fiat 500 into a giant-killer, and the company set hundreds of speed and endurance records. Fiat acquired Abarth in 1971 and used the name on sporting models before relaunching it as a standalone performance brand in 2007.
Logo History
Evolution Of The Abarth Logo

1949–2007
From the beginning the badge featured a scorpion, Carlo Abarth's zodiac sign, set on a shield. Over the decades the shield carried the Abarth name and red-and-yellow fields, often topped by an Italian tricolor band, with details varying across racing and production use.
2007–present
For the brand's relaunch under Fiat, the shield was modernized with a cleaner scorpion, a red diagonal stripe, and the Abarth wordmark on a band across the top, a design that has since received minor flat-design refinements.
