CarBrandLogos documents 617 vehicle marques from 48 countries, 1452 individual models and 20 long-form articles. That is a large body of fact for a small operation, so it is worth being direct about how it is assembled and where its limits are.

Where the facts come from

Founding dates, countries, production spans, engines and dimensions are taken from published reference material — chiefly Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons, alongside manufacturer heritage archives and marque histories. Specifications shown in the tables on model pages are parsed directly from those source records rather than retyped, so that what you read is what the source says. Where a source is thin, contradictory or covers the wrong generation of a car, the field is left blank instead of filled with a guess.

How the writing is checked

The narrative sections — brand histories, model stories, articles — are drafted with the assistance of AI, edited, and then checked against the structured data they sit beside. That check is automated and runs over the whole site: it looks for dates that cannot be true, engine figures that contradict the specification table, founding years that disagree with the history beside them, images referenced but not held, and text repeated between entries. Anything it flags is read and either corrected or accounted for before publication. It is a real check, and it is not a substitute for a reader who knows the subject.

Images and licensing

Vehicle photographs carry their photographer, licence and a link to the original file, both on the page and in the structured data behind it. They are used under Creative Commons terms or as public domain works. Logos are the trademarks of their respective owners and appear here for identification and reference; they are not licensed to you by us, and trademark rights are unaffected by their presence on this site. If you hold rights in an image here and want it removed or re-credited, write to us and it will be handled promptly.

What we get wrong

Founding dates are the most common source of honest disagreement: a marque may date from the parent company, the first car, or the adoption of the name, and different references pick different ones. Where those dates diverge, the history text says so. Production totals, sales figures and market share move, and figures here reflect the most recent year we could source rather than today. Model pages describe the generation named at the top of the page, which is not always the generation a search engine sent you looking for.

Telling us something is wrong

Every brand, model, article and collection page carries a correction link at the foot. It opens an email with the page already filled in — describe what is wrong and, if you can, point us at something we can check. Corrections that come with a source get made quickly.
