Brand History
The Auburn Story
The Auburn Automobile Company of Auburn, Indiana, grew out of the Eckhart family's carriage business at the start of the 20th century. It was transformed in the 1920s by Errett Lobban Cord, under whom Auburn became part of the Auburn-Cord-Duesenberg empire and produced glamorous, powerful cars, most famously the supercharged 851 Speedster. The Depression-era collapse of the luxury market ended production in the mid-1930s.
