Brand History
The Elva Story
Elva was founded in 1955 by Frank Nichols in Sussex, England, its name derived from the French phrase 'elle va' ('she goes'). The company built successful small-capacity sports racers and the Courier road car, and in the 1960s collaborated with Bruce McLaren to produce customer versions of McLaren's sports racing cars, sold as McLaren-Elvas. The original company faded away by the end of the 1960s.

The original Elva ceased car production in the late 1960s, though McLaren revived the name in 2020 for its Elva open-cockpit speedster, made with the blessing of the historic marque.
