Brand History

The Facel Vega Story

Facel Vega was the car marque of Facel, a French metal-stamping and coachbuilding firm led by Jean Daninos, which began producing complete cars in 1954. Its Chrysler V8-powered grand tourers, including the HK500 and Facel II, were among the fastest and most glamorous French cars of their era, favored by celebrities and racing drivers. The smaller Facellia, powered by a troubled in-house engine, generated heavy warranty losses that crippled the company.

Current Lineup

Facel Vega collapsed in 1964, largely due to the financial damage caused by the unreliable Facellia engine.
