The Franklin Story
The H.H. Franklin Manufacturing Company of Syracuse, New York, built cars from 1902 and became America's most successful maker of air-cooled automobiles, guided by engineer John Wilkinson's designs. Franklins were known for light construction, flexible chassis and reliability, appealing to doctors and long-distance drivers. The luxury-priced marque could not survive the Great Depression.
