Brand History
The Mazda Story
Founded in 1920 as a cork producer, Mazda built three-wheeled trucks from 1931 and cars from 1960. It bet its future on the rotary engine — winning Le Mans outright in 1991 with the 787B, still the only Japanese and only non-piston winner — and created the MX-5 Miata, the world's best-selling roadster. Design ('Kodo') and driver focus define the modern brand.

Wordmarks and a Hiroshima-inspired 'M' emblem.
1992–1997
A diamond-in-oval mark, softened to avoid resemblance to Renault's.
1997–present
The 'wings' V inside an oval — a stylised M suggesting flight — refined but unchanged in essence.
