Brand History

The MV Agusta Story

MV Agusta was established in 1945 at Cascina Costa by Count Domenico Agusta as an offshoot of the Agusta aviation company, its initials standing for Meccanica Verghera. The marque dominated Grand Prix racing for decades, winning dozens of world championships with riders such as John Surtees, Mike Hailwood and Giacomo Agostini. Road bike production ceased around 1980, but the brand was revived under Cagiva ownership in the 1990s, launching the acclaimed F4 superbike in the late 1990s.
