Brand History
The Simca Story
Simca was founded in France in 1934 by Henri Théodore Pigozzi, initially to build Fiat cars under license. It grew into one of France's largest automakers with popular models such as the Aronde, Simca 1000, and the influential front-wheel-drive 1100. Chrysler progressively took control in the 1960s, folding Simca into Chrysler Europe, whose 1978 sale to Peugeot sealed the brand's fate.

The Simca name was phased out around 1980 when Peugeot rebranded the former Chrysler Europe models as Talbot.
