Brand History
The Slate Story
Slate Auto is an American electric vehicle startup founded in 2022 with the goal of building a radically affordable, no-frills electric pickup truck. Backed by prominent investors including Jeff Bezos, the company stayed in stealth mode until April 2025, when it revealed the Slate Truck, a compact two-seat electric pickup designed around simplicity, with manual windows, no built-in infotainment screen, and a wide range of owner-installed accessory kits.
