Origins

Dayun — Shanxi's truck-and-motorcycle group — launched the Yuanzhi M1 in 2021 as part of its new-energy expansion: an electric light commercial for China's urban logistics fleets, where licence privileges and operating-cost mathematics were driving the world's fastest commercial electrification. The M1 joined the crowded field of battery vans and light trucks contesting municipal delivery contracts and e-commerce distribution. Dayun's passenger-EV ambitions ran alongside with mixed fortunes, but the commercial logic held steadier: China's cities were mandating the transition, and every truck maker's survival required product in the lane. The M1 is Dayun's entry ticket, punched on schedule. In the fleet ledgers of Chinese city logistics, such entries are how the future is actually itemised.
