Brand History
The Aprilia Story
Aprilia was founded in 1945 by Alberto Beggio in Noale, Italy, as a bicycle manufacturer, with his son Ivano Beggio steering it into mopeds and motorcycles from the late 1960s. The company grew into one of Europe's major motorcycle makers and built an extraordinary Grand Prix racing record, winning numerous 125cc and 250cc world titles. Aprilia was acquired by the Piaggio Group in 2004 and later found superbike success with the V4-powered RSV4.
