Brand History
The Bridgestone Story
Founded in 1931 in Kurume, Japan, Bridgestone takes its name from a translation of founder Shojiro Ishibashi's surname — 'stone bridge'. It grew into Japan's dominant tyre maker and became the world's largest after acquiring Firestone in 1988.
Current Lineup
Bridgestone is the world's biggest tyre manufacturer by revenue, supplying road cars, trucks, motorsport and aviation, and was Formula 1's sole tyre supplier from 2007 to 2010.
