Brand History
The FAW Story
FAW, China's First Automobile Works, was founded in 1953 in Changchun as the country's first large-scale vehicle manufacturer, built with Soviet assistance. It produced China's first domestically built truck, the Jiefang CA10, in 1956, and the prestigious Hongqi ('Red Flag') limousine in 1958. As a major state-owned group, FAW later formed influential joint ventures with Volkswagen and Toyota.
