Brand History

The FSO Story

FSO (Fabryka Samochodów Osobowych) was established in 1951 in Warsaw as communist Poland's principal passenger car factory. It built the Warszawa and the popular Syrena before license-producing Fiat designs as the Polski Fiat 125p, and in 1978 launched its own derivative, the Polonez, which remained in production into the 2000s. Daewoo took over the plant in the 1990s, followed by contract assembly for General Motors.
