Brand History

The Hupmobile Story

Hupmobile was produced by the Hupp Motor Car Company, founded in Detroit in 1909 by Robert C. Hupp. Its early Model 20 runabout was a well-regarded, affordable car that helped establish the marque, and Hupmobile enjoyed solid success through the 1920s. The Depression eroded its position, and a late attempt to revive the company by building the Skylark using body dies from the defunct Cord 810 came too late; production ceased around 1940.
