Brand History

The IKA Story

IKA (Industrias Kaiser Argentina) was established in 1956 in Córdoba as a venture between America's Kaiser Motors and the Argentine state to create large-scale domestic car production. It built Kaiser, Jeep and Renault-derived models and in 1966 launched the Torino, a heavily re-engineered American Motors design that became an Argentine national icon. Renault progressively took control from 1967, and the company was eventually absorbed into Renault Argentina in the 1970s.

Current Lineup

IKA is defunct as a marque, having been folded into Renault's Argentine operations in the 1970s; the Torino remained in production under Renault into the early 1980s.
