Brand History
The Jawa Story
Jawa was founded in Prague in 1929 by industrialist František Janeček, who began motorcycle production under licence from Germany's Wanderer — the name combining Janeček and Wanderer. Jawa became one of the world's best-known motorcycle marques in the mid-20th century, exporting widely from communist Czechoslovakia and earning a strong record in speedway and enduro racing.
