Brand History
The Jaguar Story
Founded as the Swallow Sidecar Company in 1922, the firm first put the Jaguar name on a car with the SS Jaguar of 1935, and took it as the company name in 1945, once the SS initials had acquired an association it could not survive. The XK120 was the fastest production car of its day, the D-Type won Le Mans three times, and the 1961 E-Type became perhaps the most beautiful car ever made. After spells under British Leyland and Ford, Jaguar joined Land Rover under Tata in 2008.
