Brand History

The Kaiser Story

Kaiser-Frazer was founded in 1945 by shipbuilding magnate Henry J. Kaiser and auto executive Joseph W. Frazer, becoming the most successful new American car company of the immediate postwar years. Its modern full-size sedans and the compact Henry J sold well initially, but the company could not sustain the fight against the Big Three and merged with Willys-Overland in 1953. US passenger-car production ended in 1955, though Kaiser designs lived on in Argentina and the company continued as Kaiser Jeep.
