Brand History
The Navistar Story
Navistar was created in 1986 as the successor to International Harvester after that company sold its agricultural equipment business and reorganized around trucks and engines. It continued building heavy and medium-duty trucks under the International brand along with IC Bus school buses. In 2021 Navistar was acquired by Traton, the commercial vehicle arm of the Volkswagen Group.
Current Lineup
The company, headquartered in Lisle, Illinois, has since rebranded itself as International Motors and continues producing International trucks and IC buses, including battery-electric models.
