Brand History
The Paccar Story
Paccar's roots date to 1905, when William Pigott founded Seattle Car Manufacturing Company to build railway and logging equipment; it later became Pacific Car and Foundry, from which the modern name derives. The company entered heavy trucks by acquiring Kenworth in 1945 and Peterbilt in 1958, and added the Dutch truck maker DAF in 1996. It is consistently among the most profitable truck manufacturers in the world.

Paccar, headquartered in Bellevue, Washington, designs and builds Kenworth, Peterbilt and DAF trucks along with Paccar-branded engines and financial services.
