Brand History
The Peterbilt Story
Peterbilt was founded in 1939 when Tacoma lumberman T.A. Peterman purchased the assets of Fageol to build logging trucks. The marque grew into one of America's most recognizable heavy truck brands, its red oval badge and long-hood conventionals becoming icons of the highway. Paccar acquired Peterbilt in 1958.
