Brand History
The Rambler Story
Rambler originated with the Thomas B. Jeffery Company of Kenosha, Wisconsin, which first put the Rambler name on a car in 1900 and began mass production in 1902, after earlier success with Rambler bicycles. The name was revived in 1950 by Nash-Kelvinator and became central to American Motors Corporation (AMC), whose compact, economical Ramblers sold strongly during the late 1950s and 1960s. The Rambler American and Rambler Classic helped establish the compact car segment in the United States.
