Brand History
The RAM Story
Ram became a standalone truck brand in 2009, when Chrysler separated its pickup and commercial vehicle lines from Dodge, taking its name from the long-running Dodge Ram pickup. The move allowed Dodge to focus on cars while Ram concentrated on trucks and vans, led by the full-size Ram 1500 and heavy-duty 2500/3500 models. The Ram 1500 has repeatedly won major truck-of-the-year awards and is one of the best-selling vehicles in North America.
