Brand History
The Spyker Story
Spyker Cars was founded in 1999 by Victor Muller and Maarten de Bruijn, reviving the name of the historic Dutch coachbuilder and automaker Spijker, which operated from the 1880s until 1926. The modern company built hand-crafted, aviation-inspired sports cars such as the C8, distinguished by intricate detailing and the propeller-themed logo referencing the original firm's aircraft heritage. Spyker briefly owned Saab from 2010 to 2011, an episode that strained its finances, and the company subsequently went through bankruptcy and restructuring.
