Brand History
The Sterling Story
Sterling Trucks was established in 1998 after Freightliner, part of Daimler, acquired Ford's heavy truck business and relaunched it under the Sterling name. The brand produced Class 5 through Class 8 commercial trucks for the North American market, slotting between Freightliner and Western Star in Daimler's truck portfolio.
