Brand History
The Workhorse Story
Workhorse began in 1998 when Workhorse Custom Chassis acquired GM's P30/P32 step-van and motorhome chassis business, building delivery-van chassis in Union City, Indiana. After a period under Navistar ownership, the name was revived by Workhorse Group, an Ohio-based company focused on battery-electric delivery vans and drone technology. The company drew attention with its bid to build electric delivery vehicles for the US Postal Service, a contract it ultimately lost to Oshkosh in 2021.
