Origins
By 1962 BSA had already decided the pre-unit twins were finished, and Eddie Dow, a Gold Star specialist dealer, suggested a send-off: put the tuned 646 cc Super Rocket engine into the chassis of the 500 cc Gold Star. BSA agreed, and the Rocket Gold Star was built for just two seasons.
