Origins
The G10 of 1965 was Ginetta thinking big: Ford's 4.7-litre Mustang V8 in a strengthened version of the marque's spaceframe-and-glassfibre construction, intended to take on big-engined rivals in racing and offer supercar pace to road buyers. In American SCCA competition the handful built showed startling speed against Cobras before homologation politics shut the door; at home, price and the tiny factory's capacity kept numbers to single figures, and the milder MGB-engined G11 followed instead. The G10 thus stands as a tantalising sliver — proof the brothers could engineer for hairy-chested power as convincingly as for club-racing delicacy, cut short before the world noticed. Survivors are prized accordingly, rarer than almost anything with a Cobra connection.
