Origins

Shown as a concept in 2019 and put into production for 2022, the Norden gave Husqvarna a proper road-going adventure bike for the first time since the TR650 was dropped. Underneath, it is closely related to the KTM 890 Adventure, sharing the 889 cc parallel twin, the chassis and much of the electronics package.

Design and engineering

What differs is the presentation. Where KTM's rally-derived bodywork carries fuel low in side tanks and looks aggressively functional, the Norden has a conventional upright tank, a stacked round headlight arrangement and softer touring ergonomics, aimed at riders doing long distances on tarmac with occasional gravel rather than the reverse.

In production

An Expedition version added semi-active suspension, luggage and heated equipment as standard. It is a straightforward exercise in platform sharing, but a well-judged one: the two bikes genuinely suit different riders rather than competing for the same one.
