The Husqvarna Story

Husqvarna's parent company traces its history to a 17th-century Swedish arms works, and it began building motorcycles in 1903 in the town of Huskvarna. The marque became a dominant force in motocross and enduro racing during the 1960s and 1970s. The motorcycle business was sold to Italy's Cagiva in 1987, passed to BMW in 2007, and was acquired in 2013 by Pierer Industrie/KTM, which moved production to Austria.

   Husqvarna's emblem derives from the company's origins as an arms manufacturer: the mark represents a gun sight viewed from the shooter's position. The device has been simplified and restyled many times but has remained the core of the brand's identity across firearms, appliances and motorcycles.
