Origins
The Fidia was Rivolta's answer to a question few asked but he found irresistible: why should the four-door owner surrender speed? Launched in 1967 with a Ghia body by Giugiaro, it carried the familiar Corvette V8 and Bizzarrini-derived chassis under limousine packaging, and Iso advertised it with a line of pure swagger — the four fastest seats in the world. John Lennon bought one, which suited the car's blend of establishment shape and outlaw pace. It was hand-built, costly and slightly heavier than grace demanded; around 190 were made before the company's 1974 collapse. The Fidia now reads as prophecy: the fast luxury four-door it proposed became, decades later, an entire industry segment. Rivolta simply arrived before the customers did.
