Brand History
The Alvis Story
Alvis was founded in Coventry in 1919 by T.G. John and built high-quality sporting and luxury cars, including the Speed 20 and the postwar 3-Litre series, alongside pioneering work such as early front-wheel-drive racing cars. The company also became a major producer of aero engines and armored military vehicles. Car production ended in 1967 following the takeover by Rover, though the military side continued for decades.
