Brand History

The Bimota Story

Bimota was founded in Rimini, Italy, in 1973 by Valerio Bianchi, Giuseppe Morri and Massimo Tamburini, its name formed from the first letters of their surnames. The company made its reputation building exquisite lightweight frames and chassis around engines from Japanese and Italian manufacturers, producing exotic, low-volume sports bikes. Innovations included the Tesi series with its hub-centre steering, though the firm endured repeated financial crises over the decades.
