Brand History
The Bitter Story
Bitter was founded in 1971 by former racing driver Erich Bitter, who set out to build elegant grand tourers using proven Opel mechanicals. The Bitter CD of 1973, based on the Opel Diplomat, and the later SC coupé and sedan of the 1980s combined Italian-influenced styling with reliable German engineering. Production volumes were always small, and the company built cars only intermittently after the late 1980s.

Current Lineup
Bitter survives as a small niche operation offering bespoke conversions of Opel-based vehicles in very limited numbers.
