Brand History

The Bristol Story

Bristol Cars was established in 1945 as an offshoot of the Bristol Aeroplane Company, launching the BMW-derived 400 saloon in 1947. The company built exclusive, hand-made luxury GTs in small numbers, adopting Chrysler V8 power from the 1960s in models like the 407 through Blenheim, and cultivated a famously discreet, eccentric image with a single London showroom. It entered administration in 2011.
