Brand History

The Changan Story

Changan traces its origins to a military arsenal established in 1862 during the Qing dynasty, making it one of the oldest industrial enterprises behind a Chinese automaker. Based in Chongqing, it evolved into one of China's 'big four' state-owned car groups, building microvans before expanding into passenger cars and forming joint ventures with Ford and Mazda. In recent years Changan has invested heavily in electrification through brands such as Deepal and the premium Avatr venture with Huawei and CATL.
