Brand History
The Detroit Electric Story
Detroit Electric was the trade name of electric cars built by the Anderson Electric Car Company of Detroit from 1907. Its quiet, easy-to-operate broughams were popular in the 1910s, particularly with women drivers in cities, and the cars offered a practical range of around 80 miles per charge. Demand faded as cheap gasoline cars with electric starters took over, and production dwindled through the 1930s.

Current Lineup
The original company faded away by 1939; the Detroit Electric name has since been revived by unrelated modern EV ventures.
