Brand History

The Diatto Story

Diatto's origins date to 1835, when Guglielmo Diatto established a workshop in Turin building horse-drawn and later railway carriages. The family firm turned to automobiles in 1905, producing quality touring and sports cars and competing in Grand Prix racing, where Alfieri Maserati developed racing engines for the marque. Car production ended around 1929, with Diatto's racing program having effectively seeded the founding of Maserati.
