Brand History
The Geely Story
Geely was founded in 1986 by Li Shufu in Zhejiang province, beginning with refrigerator parts and motorcycles before becoming one of China's first privately owned car manufacturers in the late 1990s. Its transformative move came in 2010 with the purchase of Volvo Cars from Ford, followed by stakes in or ownership of Lotus, Proton, and the launch of new brands including Lynk & Co and Zeekr.
