Brand History
The GMC Story
GMC's origins lie in the Rapid and Reliance truck companies acquired by General Motors, which combined them and registered the 'GMC Truck' name in the early 1910s. The brand built military vehicles in both world wars, including the famous CCKW 'deuce-and-a-half', and evolved into GM's dedicated truck, van and SUV marque. In recent decades GMC has moved progressively upmarket, capped by the Denali luxury trim line.
