Brand History
The Honda Story
Soichiro Honda started in 1946 fitting surplus engines to bicycles; by 1948 Honda was a company, and by 1964 it was the world's largest motorcycle maker — a title it has never relinquished. Cars followed in 1963, and the Civic (1972) and Accord (1976) made Honda a global force, renowned for its engines, from the CVCC to VTEC to Formula 1 power units.
