Brand History
The Hongqi Story
Hongqi, meaning Red Flag, was created in 1958 by China's FAW Group and is the country's oldest passenger car marque. Its early CA72 and CA770 limousines served Chinese state leaders and became enduring symbols of official prestige. After decades of limited production, FAW relaunched Hongqi in the 2010s as a modern luxury brand, expanding from ceremonial limousines into premium sedans, SUVs and electric vehicles such as the H9 and E-HS9.
