Brand History

The HSV Story

HSV (Holden Special Vehicles) was formed in 1987 as a partnership between Holden and Tom Walkinshaw Racing to build high-performance versions of Holden's cars. Its V8-powered Commodore-based sedans, such as the GTS, and the Maloo performance ute became icons of Australian muscle motoring. The operation wound down as Australian Commodore production ended, and its role was succeeded by GM Specialty Vehicles.
