Brand History
The Hycan Story
Hycan was founded in 2019 as an electric vehicle joint venture between GAC Group and EV startup NIO, based in Guangzhou. NIO's stake was later diluted, leaving GAC-aligned investors in control, and the brand launched models including the Z03 hatchback and A06 sedan. Sales remained modest in China's crowded EV market.
