Brand History

The Infiniti Story

Infiniti was launched by Nissan in 1989 as its luxury division for North America, debuting the same year as Toyota's Lexus with the flagship Q45 sedan. The brand carved out a niche with performance-oriented models such as the G35 sport sedan in the 2000s, built on Nissan's front-midship platform. Infiniti later expanded globally, though it has retrenched from several markets, including Western Europe.

Infiniti's badge, introduced at the brand's 1989 launch, is an oval containing two lines converging toward the horizon, evoking an endless road stretching into the distance. The mark has been refined over the years, including a flattened two-dimensional rendering in the 2020s, without changing its basic form.
