The Kawasaki Story

Kawasaki's origins date to 1896, when Shozo Kawasaki founded Kawasaki Dockyard, the shipbuilder that grew into industrial giant Kawasaki Heavy Industries. The company entered motorcycles in earnest in the early 1960s, absorbing the Meguro marque, and built a reputation for high-performance machines from the 1969 H1 and 1972 Z1 to the modern Ninja line, including the supercharged Ninja H2.

1. 2021–present

   Alongside its long-running Kawasaki wordmark, the company reintroduced the historic 'River Mark' — a stylized emblem based on the kanji for river, first associated with Kawasaki in its early industrial era — as the symbol of the newly independent Kawasaki Motors.
