Brand History
The Moto Guzzi Story
Moto Guzzi was founded in 1921 in Mandello del Lario, Italy, by Carlo Guzzi and Giorgio Parodi, together with plans made with fellow air corps comrade Giovanni Ravelli, who died in a flying accident before the company was formed. It became one of Europe's great motorcycle marques, pioneering innovations such as the motorcycle wind tunnel and winning numerous Grand Prix titles, and since the 1960s it has been defined by its transverse 90-degree V-twin engines. Moto Guzzi is the oldest European motorcycle manufacturer in continuous production.

The spread-winged eagle emblem was adopted at the company's founding in honor of Giovanni Ravelli, the aviator co-founder who died in a plane crash in 1919; the eagle has appeared on every Moto Guzzi logo since, with the wordmark and styling modernized over the decades.
