Brand History

The Nissan GT-R Story

The GT-R lineage began with the Nissan Skyline GT-R of 1969, a nameplate inherited from the Prince Motor Company's Skyline. The R32 Skyline GT-R of 1989 earned the nickname 'Godzilla' by dominating touring car racing with its ATTESA all-wheel-drive system and twin-turbo straight-six. In 2007 the GT-R became a standalone model with the R35, wearing its own badge rather than the Nissan roundel and offering supercar performance at a comparatively accessible price.
